About me

I am Siddharth, a 25 year old digital communications professional from New Delhi. I also shoot and edit videos professionally whenever I get the time. I love cycling, the long distance kind. Not that I don’t enjoy the weekly rides to eateries around Delhi, but would rather prefer something that was way out and away from home.

    1. Haha I quite vividly remember the wind farm project. It was technically a wind farm on a train. Spoke to my maternal grandfather about it back then and he thwarted it using physics. Couldn’t disagree with the wise man. 🙂 How are you Rakesh? Apologies for not replying to this for so long.

  1. hey siddartha,
    how are you?
Unfortunately, we didn`t met again in Kaza, which was really pity, `cause I enjoyed your ( and Ralf and fabians) company a lot…

I still have some pictures of you… so if you want to have them…. 😉

    1. Hey Korbi,

I apologize for the amazing turn around time to get to this message. I am well, thank you. Assuming you have already seen some of the pictures from the album, I toured with Ralf and Fabian for a few more days after that evening.

And yes, I remember swapping memory cards with you 😀 I would love to see what I tried capturing!

Haha sorry about the error there. I couldn’t pick up the name the first time. And believe it or not, Ralf, Fabian and I had a long-ish discussion about this in the van later that evening. We all came up with different spellings and Ralf went into understanding the genesis of your name.

PS: I still can’t believe you and Ralf missed the arrow Fabian made on the road to Tashi Gang!

  2. Hi Sid,

I am from Delhi and am inspired by your journey. I am new to cycling and yet to figure out which bike to buy. Can you tell which bike you rode all the way ? Also, will a road bike good for such expeditions ? I am considering buying a suncross racer star.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hey Rajesh,

Glad you found the journey inspiring. Where in Delhi? To answer your questions about the bike, I rode a Fuji Touring. A steel frame touring focused bike. Road bikes are fine but may not be able to haul heavy loads over longer distances. They are meant for speed not robustness. If you want to get into serious touring, a good hybrid would be a better bet. Hope that answers your question.

      Best,
      Sid
